■ Presidential Nominee Moon Jae-in

This is the first meeting. I say this with urgency, seeking regime change. I am deeply ashamed of the recent intra-party conflict on organizing the Election Committee before our people who yearn for regime change. As of yesterday, I firmly state that further conflicts cannot arise regarding the appointment. Whatever the reason may be, our people will not tolerate any attempts to impede our national unity and integration.

For the remainder of the month, we must confront two things. First is the corrupt existing political establishment that attempts to prolong their hold on power. I have repeatedly said since my nomination that the existing establishment will not go down easily. That is we are facing now. They are not trying to win the election with their own sense of “vision” but solely with “anti-Moon” allegiance.

Nowhere in the world has there been a political force that prevailed in the elections with an anti-candidate strategy rather than a pledge of what they will do. The more they do so; we must present a truly changed regime to the Korean people with our vision and strategy. In addition, we must also present a detailed vision of an entirely new Korea.

Second, we must fight against ourselves. We must not resort to optimism, complacency, arrogance and vanity but should be alert and aware every single day. Only when our urgency and yearnings for regime change grows bigger than that of our people, we can win.

From today we are one. My friends and I, as a nominee and the party, we are one. But all the candidates I have competed with, we are one as well. Governor An Hee-jung, Mayor Lee Jae-myung and Mayor Choi Sung and I will act as one. I would like to state all discussions will inextricably involve along with An Hee-jung, Lee Jae-myung, Choi Sung, Park Won-soon and Kim Boo-kyum. I will reflect their opinions not only in appointing the election committee members but also in forming my campaign pledge. I am prepared to incorporate their philosophy and spirit in my pledge.

We have struggled and suffered to seek regime change for the past ten years. Our people were forced to endure a painful life. If we fail to change our regime now, we will go down as sinners in history. We must answer the call of our people’s yearnings as if our life depended on it. With such ardent spirit, we must exert ourselves to the utmost to win the election.

I will lead the way. I will reach out to Korean people. Will you come with me? Let us go together. If we can be one, we will inevitably win. The new chapter of Korea is in front of our eyes.

1차 회의다. 정권교체를 향한 절박한 마음으로 말씀드린다. 최근 선대위 구성과 관련된 당내 갈등은 정권교체를 염원하는 국민들 앞에 송구하고 면목 없는 일이다. 어제를 끝으로 인선이나 자리를 놓고 어떤 잡음도 있어서는 안 된다는 강력한 당부를 드린다. 특히 이유가 무엇이던 간에 화합과 통합에 찬물을 끼얹는 일은 국민들께서 용납하지 않으실 것이다.

남은 한 달 우리는 두 가지와 맞서야 한다. 하나는 정권을 연장하려는 부패 기득권 세력이다. 제가 당 경선 때부터 정권 연장 세력이 그렇게 호락호락하지 않다는 것을 여러 번 강조해서 말씀드렸다. 지금 그 일이 벌어지고 있다. 그들은 비전으로 승부하는 것이 아니라 오로지 ‘문재인은 안 된다’로 맞서고 있다.

전 세계 어느 선거에서도 내가 무엇을 하겠다는 것이 아니라, 어느 누구는 안 된다고 해서 집권한 정치세력은 없다. 그럴수록 우리는 비전과 정책으로 진짜 정권교체가 무엇인지를 국민들께 보여드리고, 또 완전히 새로운 대한민국의 구체적 비전을 보여드려야 한다.

또 하나는 우리 자신과 맞서야 한다. 우리 스스로 낙관과 안일, 자만과 오만을 일체 버리고 매일 매일 긴장하고 각성해야 한다. 정권교체를 갈망하는 국민들의 절박함보다 훨씬 더 큰 절박함을 우리 스스로 가져야만 이길 수 있다.

오늘부터 우리는 하나다. 저와 동지들, 또 후보와 당도 하나지만, 함께 경쟁했던 후보들도 하나다. 안희정 지사, 이재명 시장, 최성 시장과 저는 한 몸이다. 이제부터 모든 일은 안희정, 이재명, 최성, 박원순, 김부겸과 떼어 놓고 생각할 수 없다는 것을 말씀드린다. 선대위만 용광로가 아니라 공약도 용광로가 되게 할 것이다. 이분들의 정신과 철학을 제 공약으로 삼을 각오가 되어있다.

우리는 정권교체를 위해 지난 10년간 절치부심했다. 그러나 그동안 국민들은 절체절명의 힘든 삶을 버텨야만 했다. 이번에 정권교체를 못하면, 우리는 역사의 죄인이 된다. 죽기 살기의 각오로 국민의 열망을 받들어야 한다. 분골쇄신, 사즉생의 각오로 반드시 이겨야 한다.

제가 맨 앞에서 앞장서가겠다. 국민 속으로 가겠다. 함께 가주시겠는가. 다함께 가자. 우리가 하나가 돼서 함께 가면 반드시 이긴다. 새로운 대한민국이 우리 앞에 있다.
